Anna Marie Wooldridge, known as Abbey Lincoln, was a singer and composer american jazz, in addition to actress, and writer. This is one of the most prestigious female voices of the jazz that opened new paths to singing jazz.
Strongly influenced by Billie Holiday, Lincoln dramatizó their interpretations to always be very aware of the meaning and feeling of the lyrics which he sang. His voice could be powerful and serious, but his intonation broke frequently, that would be a diction and tone that conventionally orthodox to adapt to what he was singing, phrasing slowly.
